Karim Benzema is Real Madrid’s top provider of assists this season!

Karim Benzema is one of those forwards who, as well as keeping the opposing side’s goal in his sights at all times, is able to take his time at decisive moments and find the team mate in the best scoring position. He has demonstrated this in the last two matches against Ajax and Barcelona, when he delivered three through passes, all of them to Cristiano Ronaldo. Together with the pass he made to Higuaín on day three of the League against Granada, they make the French star Real Madrid’s most prolific supplier of assists so far this season.
Few strikers possess Benzema’s ability to link up with his team mates and set up goal-scoring opportunities. His partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo in the last two games has been lethal. In the 4-1 victory in the Champions League over Ajax, he set up Ronaldo’s first and third goals. Meanwhile, against Barça, Mourinho’s players went ahead with a sensational team move that was finished by Ronaldo after a great opening created by Benzema.

To those three killer passes we must add the one he made to Higuaín on day three of the League against Granada. The Frenchman is Real’s best provider of through balls so far this season, ahead of Di María, with 3 assists and Özil, with 2. Benzema arrived at the club in the summer of 2009 and, since then, as well as scoring 70 goals in official games, he has made 27 killer passes. His figures are evidence of his exceptional contribution to Real’s attack, both in terms of scoring goals and creating them.
